The collision of the solar wind with interstellar space creates an energy neutral hydrogen atoms, called ENA, the heliosphere, which fly in all directions into the interior of our system. The spacecraft is slowly turning, and every six months creates a global map the outer parts of our system, and the new maps show that the structure of energy bands changed and that the intensity of ENA's dropped by 10 to 15 percent.

McComas still says that this decline is probably logical, because the Sun has only recently awakened from an unusually long period of very low activity in which the solar winds were extremely weak - reducing the number of particles that reach the edges of the heliosphere, the last few years has caused her jet, and decreased bladder leaks more cosmic rays.

Scientists hope the IBEX will continue to work throughout the solar cycle and collect data on the development of the heliosphere in the next few years when solar activity should be strengthened.
