Scientists have found methane in the Martian atmosphere, which increases the possibility of life on Mars.

Mars could backfire more active than you think.
Methane could be formed from micro-organisms, as the product of geological activity or comet, say NASA scientists, but are not sure how long the methane in the atmosphere.

Methane molecule consists of carbon atoms and 4 hydrogen atoms and is the main component of natural gas on Earth. This is interesting because astrobiologists organisms emit lots of methane on Earth digestion of food. Geological processes such as oxidation of iron also release methane.

"It is time to begin to explore Mars in search for the possible existence of living organisms that release methane." said Lisa Pratt, professor of geological sciences at Indiana University at NASA meeting.

The team had found methane in the Martian atmosphere, carefully observing the planet through the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility and the WM Keck telescope located at Mauna Kea on Havala.

Using spectrometers on telescopes to spread the light into its component colors, revealing that three spectral features, the so-called absorption lines, which are together as a "fingerprint" of methane.
