Implementation of microchips in children

As each month throughout the United States, but also the rest of the world disappear for hundreds of children, once again became a topical idea that children are embedded microchips under the skin in order to electronically monitor their movements. However, this issue is not just a question of possibilities of modern technology, but also ethics.

The question of whether the children need implant microchips is not new. In 2002. year, CNN reported that parents in the UK asking for microchips, after two 10-year-old girl abducted and murdered. Year 2003. appeared to have microchips in the Mexican market called VeriKid.

What is new is that despite the "big brother" aspect of the story, and the obvious problems related to privacy and many health risks, microchips are becoming increasingly popular and more and more stories about them.

According to the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, about 800,000 children missing only in that country. About half the children had fled their choice from home, while some only temporarily disappeared. Approximately 204 000 children kidnapped by their family members, 58.000 were abducted by persons who are not child's family members, but they know the children, while only 115 had been taken on the stereotypical way by complete strangers on the street, after which the child takes the unknown region, is killed or permanently confined to the requested ransom.

Although the stereotypical child abductions are rare, the fact that they do occur is enough reason for parents concerned for the welfare of children. Security measures in schools are not enough, so many people come up with the idea to permanently embed a microchip in order to know at certain moments where the child is.

Microchips and other radio-frequency devices already implanted in pets. One of them is that VeriChip is the U.S. market came 2002nd year, a government agency in 2004. The use of the microchip allowed in humans.

Research from the 90-ies have shown that microchips cause cancer in laboratory animals with tumors that are formed around the implants. Until 2007. year, about 2,000 microchips embedded in humans worldwide.

Microchips help police to detect the location of a person, just like looking for stolen cars with the same chips.
