The first cloned camel born in Dubai

In Dubai, first cloned camel is born. Camel Injaz was born on 8 April, and weighs 30 kilograms, announced on Tuesday the media.

- We are all very excited about Injaz arrival on the world as a result of great skill and teamwork of everyone in the CRC (Center for the reproduction of camels) - said Dr. Lulu Skidmore.

She pointed out that this is significant progress in their research program center that will help preserve valuable genetics of their elite background and ensure the production of milk in the future.

The embryo was cultured in laboratory seven days before it was incorporated into the womb of a surrogate camels. Ultrasound after 20 days showed that the pregnant camels, and the next 12 months was under control.

- Injaz seems happy and now it does the right things - said Skidmore.

CRC was founded 20 years ago with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, is also ruler of Dubai.
