During the 1960s Adams was closely followed by the development of geological theory, with a special interest for model Pangea. The name refers to a hypothetical continent from the period of the Paleozoic and Mesozoic. It is believed that the total supply of the then merged into a single Pangea about 300 million years. Vast continent occupied a quarter of the Earth's surface, while the rest is covered with an ancient ocean Pantalasa. Today it is estimated that about 180 million years the process of plate tectonics separated Pangea across continents, to their present forms. Adams did not agree with that theory, but using three-dimensional computer animation made several mathematical models of movement by which seeks to explain the theory of growing earth. Animations past Earth as seen on shows that continental shapes fit like a puzzle - but on a smaller globe.

Adams in animated relied on evidence obtained by observing the age of different parts of the ocean floor in order to determine the pattern and order of different movements of continents during the growth process. Then, "aired footage" backward and gradually removed the newer parts of the ocean floor, until it reached nearly half a small globe completely covered by oceanic crust. Continental margins
cling almost perfectly. Adams argues that such a coincidence is possible only if a Earth was significantly lower.

Neal Adams assumed that in this period, half the Earth had a smaller diameter and that was completely covered by the continental crust. Within the continental crust, there are a shallow sea. After the separation of land and shallow sea are spilled into the great ocean. Adams believes that this is why the oldest fish fossils found on land, not in the deep oceans. Specifically, terrestrial crust of the continents old is about 2 billion years, while the oceanic crust generally less than 70 million years.
